It’s like having dessert for breakfast!
1 small loaf OR 1/2 large loaf French bread
2 cups milk
1 1/2 cups half-and-half
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4 cup butter
1 1/3 cups brown sugar
3 tablespoons light corn syrup
Butter a 9 by 13 inch baking dish and arrange the slices of bread in the bottom.
In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, half-and-half, vanilla, and cinnamon.
Pour this mixture over the bread slices.
Cover and refrigerate overnight.
The next morning, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
In a saucepan, combine the butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup and heat until bubbling.
Pour it over the bread and egg mixture.
Bake for 40-45 minutes.
