5 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
3/4 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 pinch salt
1/3 cup cold butter, cut into pieces
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Place the apples in an 8 by 8 inch baking dish and toss them with the maple syrup.
In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, oat, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles a coarse crumble.
Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the apples.
Bake for about 35 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve warm or at room temperature.
